Principles Before Personalities
We believe addiction is, at bottom, a kind of disconnection, both from other people and from a power greater than yourself, however you understand that. Recovery is the slow work of restoring those connections. This app is here to help you clear what stands in the way of them: the resentment, the fear, the wreckage. It isn't here to give you advice or the right thing to say.
Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of that work, and it's about more than privacy. So much of what disconnects us is self-centered: the need to be seen, to be right, to keep score. Anonymity is how you practice setting that down. It isn't a setting we added; it's the ground the whole app is built on. Your recovery is yours to do and yours to keep, and the most a tool should ever do is hand you back to another person.
A Spiritual Foundation
There's nothing to post here. No streak to show off, no day-count to compare, no name required to do the work. Attraction, not promotion. Your recovery is yours to share, with the people you choose, when you choose.
Self-Searching
"Selfishness — self-centeredness," the book says, "that is the root of our troubles." So we left out the things that quietly feed it: no streaks to defend, no counters, no badges, no polished "new you" to perform for anyone. There's nothing here to win. Just the next honest thing, and then the one after that.
A Design for Living
We built an AI for the moments between meetings, when you're activated and your sponsor isn't picking up. We call it a Pocket Sponsor. It doesn't give you advice, and it will never be your sponsor. Its job is smaller and more honest: to help you separate what actually happened from the story you're telling about it, and to point you toward the one next thing, which is usually calling a real person. If it ever senses you're in danger, it stops and points you to real help, not to itself.
Rigorous Honesty
This is Fourth- and Fifth-Step material, the most honest and exposed writing a person does, and it's treated that way by default, not as a setting you have to go find. Your daily notes aren't kept unless you ask us to keep them. Identifying details are stripped out before your words ever reach the AI. We don't train our AI on your recovery. What you write here doesn't quietly become someone else's product.
Make Use of What They Offer
Recovery has a spiritual center: the steady work of setting the self down. You don't have to call it anything in particular. Bring your own conception, or none yet. The book itself says to be quick to see where others are right and to make use of what they offer, so we draw on more than one well. There are the program's own words, and there's the plainer, older idea that most of our suffering comes from clinging to how we think things ought to be. Take what's useful. Leave the rest.
A Set of Principles
Some lines we hold on purpose. These aren't features to be weighed against growth. They're the point.
988 is always one tap away and always free. No account, no paywall, ever.
Your data isn't a product, and it never becomes advertising.
What you write here doesn't teach our AI or anyone else's.
No streaks, no counters, no badges, no number to defend.
We won't interrupt hard, honest work to sell you something.
We point you toward real people and the rooms. We don't replace them.
Happy Destiny
One honest thing today is enough.
