Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026

The short version: be 18+, use it honestly, and understand it's a tool to help you prepare your recovery work — not a sponsor, not medical care, and not a crisis service.

1. Acceptance

By using RecoverConnection (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

3. Not medical, clinical, or crisis care

The Service is a self-help tool for preparing 12-step recovery work. It is not medical, clinical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for a sponsor, a meeting, professional treatment, or emergency services. It does not diagnose. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, call or text 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or your local emergency number.

4. Your account

You're responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. Don't share your account or use someone else's.

5. Optional AI features

Some optional features generate suggestions using AI. These suggestions can be wrong or incomplete, are not professional advice, and are awareness aids only — you decide what is true and what to do. Use of these features is opt-in and consent-based.

6. Your content

The recovery work you create is yours. You're responsible for what you enter, and you agree not to include other people's private or identifying information without a good reason. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store and display your content back to you and to operate features you choose to use.

7. Acceptable use

8. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, and its original content (excluding your content and third-party program literature) belong to us. The 12 Steps and related program concepts are used in the spirit of the recovery community; RecoverConnection is not affiliated with or endorsed by any 12-step fellowship.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any outcome will result from using it.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any decision you make based on the Service. The Service supports your recovery work; it does not replace professional or human support.

12. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are violated.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. We'll revise the date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.
